Signs of progress in the Middle East: Ground was broken recently in Kabul, Afghanistan for a new, 200-room Hyatt Regency hotel. The hotel is being financed by a consortium of Afghan-American and Turkish investors and is expected to take 18 months to build — and another 24 months to rebuild.
